Santiago Lema Burgos är en av våra härliga och drivna deltagare med en internationell profil som nyligen avslutat sin tid hos oss efter cirka två månaders coachning. Santiago har nu påbörjat sin heltidstjänst på FN, på UNOPS Regional Office för Latin America and the Caribbean. Ett arbete som är klippt och skuret för honom efter att ha genomfört sin Master i Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation. Santiago delar nu med sig av sin upplevelse och utveckling under sin tid hos oss.
What were your expectations of Sandson?
I chose Sandson because I believed that the company would help me to develop my skills and guide me through my career-searching process in every step necessary. In addition, I hoped that the organization would have someone capable of supporting me in my approach.
What were your expectations of your coach?
I wanted to get a coach knowledgeable on the job-hunting market, not only on the Swedish one but the international one as well. Also, I expected a person with tips, advice, and feedback whenever I asked for it or when he/she deemed necessary. In addition, I wanted someone with initiative and willingness to support me and give me the tools to become more productive in my search for a future.
In what way did we meet your initial expectation (or not)?
My initial expectation was to get more knowledge and support to get a job, and I did! My coach Matilda reviewed my CV, cover letters, and follow-up emails. She also helped me to practice my interview performance. These ways enabled me to enhance my job-seeking skills.
What was the most valuable thing with the coaching at Sandson?
Matilda was available to support me whenever I needed it. We had weekly meetings, but also, she was there to guide me every day through email whenever I needed her. I never had to ask twice for her support.
How would you describe your coach?
I do not have words to describe Matilda. I can only say that she was terrific. She guided me whenever I needed. She had the time and the willingness to support me. As a result, I build a trustful relationship with her, in which I felt confident to share my frustrations and successes in my job search.
Is there anything you would like to add?
Nothing at the moment. I am just grateful for everything.
