Zhenni, co-founder of Eventulator in Malmö, has extensive experience working with international talent. Originally from China, she has hosted several Erasmus+ interns through Sandson and shares her insights and advice for employers considering doing the same.
How many Erasmus+ interns from Sandson have you welcomed to date, and where have they come from?
To date, we have welcomed three interns from France.
What qualities do you look for and appreciate in interns?
I value interns who are open-minded, curious and willing to take initiative. Attitude matters more than a specific degree. A strong sense of ownership and a “can-do” mindset makes the biggest difference.
Has your experience of welcoming interns from Sandson met your expectations?
It has exceeded my expectations. The interns have contributed from day one and quickly became valuable members of the team. Their engagement and willingness to learn have made a clear positive impact on our organisation.
What are the advantages of having international interns?
International interns bring fresh perspectives and new ways of thinking. They offer cultural insights, creativity and alternative approaches that enrich the organisation and challenge existing assumptions in a constructive way.
Do you have any advice for companies considering hosting international interns?
I recommend hosting interns for a longer period, ideally three to six months. This gives them enough time to settle in, understand the organisation and make a real impact. Beyond that, my advice is simple: just do it! The benefits clearly outweigh the effort, both for your organisation and your team.
